Asian Hornet – UK Outbreak History

April 2018 - Asian Hornet found in a cauliflower in Lancashire. Photographed but it flew away. The cauliflower had been transported from Lincolnshire. Nest never located.

September 2017 - Woolacombe, North Devon - Asian Hornet spotted and a nest subsequently found in a hedge. Nest destroyed. (Samples sent to Fera)

March 2017 - Scotland - Asian Hornet found in a supermarket distribution depot. Dead on-site. (NNSS confirmed from photo)

Autumn 2016 - Bath, Somerset - Asian Hornet found in camping equipment following a recent trip to France (confirmed by NBU)

Sept 2016 - Tetbury, Gloucestershire - Asian Hornet spotted and a nest subsequently found in a Cyprus tree and destroyed

Spring 2016 - North Somerset - Asian Hornet caught in a simple bottle trap (only reported and confirmed after subsequent reportings above)
