HWBKA AGM & Honey Show – 2018
November 3, 2018 @ 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm
This year's Honey Show and AGM is on Saturday 3rd November at Blackboys School Hall - doors open at 1.30pm.
The aim is to have a short, formal AGM followed by the Honey Show and social activities.
The AGM format will therefore be the same as recent years -
- Committee members' reports will be circulated via email before the meeting
- Members will be requested to read the reports before the meeting and for any questions to be emailed to me prior to the meeting
- With the exception of the Chairperson's report the reports will not be read out at the meeting - however questions (those already submitted and also any raised on the day) will be answered at the meeting
- There will be one paper copy of each report at the AGM for reference if required
The agenda for the afternoon has been emailed to members and reports will follow. If you have any items to be raised under AOB please email them to Peter Halford ASAP so they can be included in the published agenda.
The Honey Show will follow the AGM.
The High Weald Honey Show will be held this year on November the 3rd at Blackboys School Halll from 1.30pm to 5.00pm. This is your chance to show off your bee’s lovely honey and all your honey and wax related items. Don’t want to enter a jar of honey? Why not enter our edibles section and produce something made with your lovely honey? Or you could show off a particularly useful or clever item of beekeeping equipment that you have developed? All entries are free and we welcome entries from beginners and experienced beekeepers alike. Winners and runners up receive lovely ribbons, kindly sponsored by Andrew Moore. There is also the Vera Becvar Trophy for the best Honey.
The Show is an informal and fun event where you can meet up with fellow beekeepers, taste the winning honey and partake of delicious cakes and biscuits washed down with tea and coffee. There are stands with books etc. The AGM will also be held, but this makes up a very small part of the afternoon, which is primarily a social event.
If you have never entered the Honey Show before and want to know more about it then please do not hesitate to contact either Sam on email@example.com or Amanda on firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be happy to answer your queries.
We look forward to receiving your entries!
See you soon,
