Hello . . . Just to introduce myself as the 2017 season’s incoming Secretary having taken on the mantle from John Preston (very big boots to fill!).

Although fairly new to beekeeping following early retirement in 2012, you might have come across me on the 2015 beginners course, or in 2016 as one of the swarm coordinators/collectors or maybe at Bee Banter in Mayfield.

If you are already a member of the High Weald Beekeepers, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or ideas regarding the association. The committee has meetings every couple of months or so and I would be pleased to raise any relevant issues on your behalf.

If you have any general questions regarding beekeeping please let me know and, if I am not able to answer it myself, I can pass it on to a relevant member of the association. We have a huge wealth of knowledge within the organisation.

I continue to be one of this year’s swarm coordinators along with Jen Moore and am looking forward to whatever this season throws at us!

Best regards  . . . Peter Halford

As well as our chairperson Helen Hadley being new to her role this year I have now taken over the Minutes Secretary role from Richard Randell and am slowly coming up to speed with the tasks involved.

Many thanks to Richard for handling over all the documentation and for his continuing support and assistance.

If you have any HWBKA queries that you think fall under my role then please email me John and I will do my best to answer them.

As a general note the committee tries to do all communication with members via email so please let me know if you change your email address so that we can update our records accordingly.

Likewise any changes to address or telephone numbers.

Thanks and regards.

John P.
